Last week in Under the Influence, it was all about Chagall. We learned how he tended to do dreamlike paintings, including things you wouldn't see in real life: floating people, mixed up sizes, bright colors. The project was to paint things that didn't quite make sense. They were encouraged to cover the entire paper, though few of them chose to do that. When they were done, they took turns explaining what was in their pictures, and I have to hand it to them....this is a very creative group!
I love kids' art! It inspires me and makes me happy. I love to create original works of art based on children's doodles. Once they see their ideas presented in a color, matted professional manner, this will hopefully inspire them to continue on with their artwork.
